Forensics
The OHA Forensic team is an after school activity that provides dramatic coaching to students who participate in acting festivals and competitions in the area. The students must perform scripts that include memorization, stage movement and demonstrate theatrical presence. This highly competitive venue provides the student with the opportunity to demonstrate their public speaking skills, confidence and poise for a panel of judges.
Forensics is open to students in Grades 6th-8th. The team meets on Mondays from 2:25-3:05 in the Drama Room.
This club requires your full commitment. Weekly attendance is required.
Students may select a dramatic pairs scene or monologue to perform at the Forensic Festivals. Please look at www.brookpub.com for selections as well as any other classic play or movie script. Performance pieces must be between 4 and 7 minutes in length and the material/language must be appropriate for middle school students. The piece MUST BE APPROVED BY MRS. DEVIVO!!!
The Forensics Team typically attends Rumson Country Day's Forensics Festival in Nov or Dec as well as Ranney's Forensics Festival in March/April. (Exact Dates TBA)
Due to school play rehearsals the Forensics schedule will alter slighting during the months of Jan, Feb and March. Updates will be sent to parents and the team via email.
