Mrs. Bridget DeVivo has been a member of the Oak Hill Academy faculty since 2002. During that time she created, from scratch, the first ever drama curriculum for OHA's grades Pre-K through 8th grade, directed 15 full length productions as well as countless other performances for her lower and upper school classes, Thespian Troupe, Veteran's Day Assemblies, Dance Ensemble and Performing Arts Assemblies.
Mrs. DeVivo received her undergraduate degrees as a dual Major in Theatre Arts (BA) and in English (BA) from Drew University in 1999.
Upon graduating from Drew, Mrs. DeVivo studied abroad in London, England with the Tisch School at NYU. It was there that her passion for all things Shakespeare grew.
When she returned, she worked at the prestigeous Horace Mann Elementary school as a Pre-kindergarten assistant. There she also developed an after school drama program for students in grades Pre-K through 6th.
In 2000, Mrs. DeVivo began her Master's degree in Educational Theatre at NYU. She traveled back to London once more to work with some of the best theatre educators in the world such as Cecily O'Neil, Warwick Dobson, Audrey Coldron, and Nancy and Lowell Swortzell. It was at that time that Mrs. DeVivo did a short internship at Ernest Bevin College in Tooting, London. Also, while studying at NYU, Mrs. DeVivo taught several residencies to underprivileged youth in Harlem, Brooklyn and the Bronx. She also taught ballet, tap and jazz to children in 2nd - 5th grade at The Children's Aid Society on Bleeker Street. Mrs. DeVivo graduated with her MA in Educational Theatre in 2001.
